Updating Address Book

Updating Address Book message.

Can’t download Offline Address book and suffering from “Updating Address book” message in Outlook 2013/2010/2007.

In Exchange 2010 event viewer you receive a warning message ID 9320.

Do not waste your time to find out the meaning of this event, to fix it you just need to change the permission of the OAB in the IIS to “Authenticated Users” (Read Only)

Step 1

Open IIS Manager in the exchaneg 2010 server and extend the “Default Web site” > right click OAB folder >Edit Permissions…:

In the security tab, add “Authenticated Users” read only permission to OAB folder:

Restart the IIS service in open CMD:

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>iisreset

Attempting stop…
Internet services successfully stopped
Attempting start…
Internet services successfully restarted

This is it….

Note: The message “Updating Address Book” in Outlook 2013 gone immediately, it mean that the address book updated.

In Outlook 2010/2007 you need to restart Outlook.
